Playing House Heads to shomi in Canada

TORONTO: The first two seasons of the comedy series Playing House, from Universal Cable Productions, are premiering this month on shomi in Canada.

Playing House is headed to the Canadian streaming service on April 22. The series was created by real-life best friends Jessica St. Clair (Bridesmaids) and Lennon Parham (Parks and Recreation), who both star in the show.

Airing on USA Network in the U.S., Playing House centers on childhood best friends Maggie Caruso (Parham) and Emma Crawford (St. Clair). After discovering her husband’s infidelity, Maggie finds herself alone and pregnant and seeks out her best friend Emma, who gives up her career to help her pal. Moving back to her hometown, Emma must also deal with her mother and her first love.

St. Clair and Parham serve as executive producers on the series, along with Ravi Nandan of A24 Films (Hesher) and Scot Armstrong of American Work (Old School, Hangover 2). Playing House is produced by Universal Cable Productions.

shomi is available to all Canadians online as well as on select tablets, mobile devices and set-top boxes. It is also available via Xbox 360, Apple TV, Chromecast and PS4.
