Modern Family EP Boards Children Ruin Everything

The indie New Metric Media (Letterkenny, Bad Blood) is in development with Bell Media on Children Ruin Everything, a new single-camera comedy that Emmy-nominated producer Chuck Tatham (Modern Family, How I Met Your Mother, Arrested Development) is set to executive produce.

Created by Kurt Smeaton (Schitt’s Creek, Kim’s Convenience), Children Ruin Everything is an original comedy about living with the worst roommates of all: your young children. Astrid and James struggle to find a balance between being Mom and Dad to two kids and being who they were before offspring.

Alongside Tatham, Smeaton and Mark Montefiore, president of New Metric Media, will also serve as executive producers.

Montefiore said: “We are thrilled to be working with Kurt Smeaton, one of Canada’s top comedic talents on his first creation. Kurt has done an amazing job in creating this tongue-in-cheek comedy where much of its humor is derived from the difficulties and reality of balancing kids and life.
