Melissa Kajpust Moves Up at Super Channel

Super Channel has named Melissa Kajpust, previously director of programming, international distributors and Canadian presales, as VP of programming.

In her new position, Kajpust will supervise the strategic programming direction for three of Super Channel’s four channels, as well as all U.S. and international program acquisitions for the company. She will work under Don McDonald, the president and CEO, who will continue to manage acquisitions for Super Channel’s GINX Esports TV Canada.

Kajpust was first hired by Super Channel in 2007 as the creative development representative for Manitoba. In 2010 she began serving as director of programming at the National Screen Institute before rejoining Super Channel in 2014 as head of creative development.

“I am delighted to appoint Melissa to the VP position as she is well-deserving and was instrumental in our restructuring program,” said McDonald. “Her deep knowledge and wide breadth of experience and relationships in the industry, along with her keen eye to find unique and entertaining programming, will contribute to the continued strategic growth of Super Channel as we move forward into the ever-changing Canadian TV broadcast landscape.”

In other news, Troy Wassill becomes director of programming, with expanded responsibility for Canadian presales and development, in addition to acquisitions for Super Channel VAULT and Super Channel SPORTS. He will report to Kajpust.
