Canada-New Zealand Co-Pro Incentive Renewed

The Canada Media Fund (CMF) and NZ On Air have renewed their partnership to encourage the co-production of digital media content between creators from Canada and New Zealand, which is currently in its fourth year.

The budget for the Canada-New Zealand Digital Media Fund is C$800,000 ($659,000), with both organizations contributing an equal amount of funding. To be considered for this funding, projects must comply with both parties’ general funding criteria, with the CMF determining eligibility for the Canadian portion of a project and NZ On Air doing so for the New Zealand portion.

Projects will be evaluated and chosen by a committee comprised of representatives from the CMF and NZ On Air. The deadline to submit an application for funding under the program is January 18, 2018. The renewal of the co-production incentive took place at an event dedicated to Indigenous New Zealand talent during the Toronto International Film Festival.
