Warner Bros. Features Headed to iQiyi

BEIJING: Warner Bros. International Television Distribution has inked a deal to supply the Chinese streaming platform iQiyi with more than 200 feature films, including the Harry Potter franchise.

The deal includes the exclusive rights to the Lord of Rings trilogy as well as The Great Gatsby, The Bodyguard, Gravity and Godzilla, among other library titles. iQiyi says that with this deal and others, it has the largest film offering in China for members of its paid VIP service.

iQiyi has deals in place locally with Wanda, Huayi Brothers, Bona and Media Asia, and is co-producing movies with CCTV Film Channel. For imported movies, the platform also has licensing deals with 20th Century Fox, Lionsgate, Paramount, Disney, Sony, Universal, STUDIOCANAL, Protagonist and Shochiku.
