VIMN Expands Southeast Asian Content Slate

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) at APOS unveiled a slew of new original shows for MTV, Comedy Central, Paramount Channel and Nickelodeon in Southeast Asia.

The slate includes MTV Got Game, a new vertical for gaming and e-sports fans that includes in-house short-form content,  on-air playlists, a new Got Game Weekly series and Got Game: Face Off, featuring local celebrities such as footballer Zulfahmi Arifin and artists Joe Flizzow and Sezairi.

MTV is also gearing up for the fourth season of the video dance tutorial show OK Danceoke in June, while Comedy Central is bringing the stand-up series Stand-Up, Asia! back for a fourth year.

The movie service Paramount Channel is introducing a new short-form series in June in which personalities from film, TV and music and Bellator athletes will discuss their favorite film genres and actors.

Nickelodeon is unveiling the short-form series Nickified Sports on-air, online and in-app from May.

“Aligned with Viacom’s global mission of creating entertainment experiences that drive conversation and culture, we are scaling up our content production in Asia for every screen across our flagship brands,” said Paras Sharma, senior VP and general manager for Southeast Asia at VIMN. “We know that Asian originals appeal to our audiences, evidenced by strong viewership, and [we] conceptualized fresh formats to resonate with our fans and evolved existing ones to grow [our] share of viewership.”
