STAR TV Gets U.S. Carriage on Time Warner

CENTENNIAL/NEW YORK: International Media Distribution and News Corp.’s STAR TV have entered a deal with Time Warner Cable to bring four channels to the U.S. platform.

STAR India PLUS, STAR India GOLD, Life OK and STAR India NEWS are all headed to Time Warner Cable in select markets. The Indian general-entertainment network STAR India PLUS is broadcast in Hindi with English subtitles. Current programming highlights include Diya Aur Baati Hum, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon and Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, while Satyamev Jayate is launching soon.

"This collaboration between our two major companies, STAR TV and Time Warner Cable, will offer an increased distribution to reach and entertain more viewers," said Rajan Singh, the executive VP of international business for STAR TV. "Our existing viewers already appreciate STAR TV’s wholesome entertainment for the entire family. This beneficial partnership will complement and enhance the array of channels being offered on Time Warner Cable to a new group of viewers."
