ITV Studios Australia Names New Head of Development

SYDNEY: ITV Studios Australia has named Micah Hewson, who helped bring about shows such as Paddock to Plate and River Cottage Australia, as its new head of development.

Hewson will work closely with Ben Ulm, himself recently named the production outfit’s new head of content, along with other genre heads to develop programming and third-party opportunities with broadcasters.

Hewson has been an executive producer of development at ITV for four years. In that role, he was on the development team for the award-winning series Paddock to Plate, and on the original Australian production Please Marry My Boy!, among others. He previously worked at Southern Star Entertainment, a subsidiary of Endemol, where he served as executive producer.

“I’m thrilled that Micah is stepping up to lead development for ITV Studios Australia. He has a natural talent for developing new programming concepts that are spot on trend, and that viewers gravitate to,” said Anita Jacoby, ITV Studios Australia’s managing director.

“Being able to contribute to the growth of ITV through the development of new and innovative programming is something I look forward to seizing with both hands,” Hewson said.
