FOX Networks Group Asia Picks Up Japanese Miniseries

CANNES: FOX Networks Group Asia (FNGA) has secured five miniseries from Japanese pay-TV channel WOWOW for its flagship Chinese movies network, SCM.

The five series are part of WOWOW’s branded, original scripted-title label Drama W. They will air on SCM in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and 12 other countries across Southeast Asia starting May 1.

The Drama W series are Cocoon of Stone, about a detective following in his father’s footsteps; Enka: Gold Rush, a thriller about a school kidnapping; Presumption of Guilt, which follows a prisoner who was convicted of killing a child but is now able prove his innocence; Shingari, set in the business world of Japan; and Stars in the Deep, which chronicles the first woman to pilot the Japanese submersible Shinkai 6500.
