Senior Management Changes at WOWOW

The Japanese premium pay-TV broadcaster WOWOW has announced senior-level management changes, including the appointment of former TBS exec Hideki Tashiro to oversee programming and production.

Tashiro is one of five new appointments to the WOWOW board. Masahiko Mizuguchi joins the company from Pony Canyon to lead the business and entertainment development division. Kenji Noshi, previously with Shizuoka Daiichi Television, will manage the company’s engineering and information and communication technology divisions. Existing WOWOW execs upped to the board are Junichi Onoue (investor relations, finance, accounting and strategy integration) and Hitoshi Yamamoto (human resources and general affairs).

Reelected board members include WOWOW’s president, Akira Tanaka; Noriaki Kuromizu, executive VP; and Ichiro Yamazaki, senior managing director overseeing marketing.

WOWOW has 2.9 million subscribers.
