Foxtel’s Euan Smith Joins Astro

Euan Smith, currently COO at Foxtel in Australia, is joining Astro Malaysia as group COO and CEO of its TV operations.

The appointment is effective April 1 and is part of the Malaysian media company’s transformation plan to keep up with changes in the business.

Henry Tan, group CEO of Astro noted, “We are pleased to welcome Euan on board. He comes with global pay-TV experience and will be a valuable addition to the team. He has a proven track record as a transformation specialist and we look forward to working with him to accelerate our goals.”

Smith joined Foxtel after running his own U.K. consultancy business. He was previously at Fox, Sky Deutschland and Sky in the U.K.
