HITS Movies Expands to Myanmar

Rewind Networks has secured carriage for HITS Movies in Myanmar, where the channel will be made available in HD on Canal+.

Myanmar is the sixth market to receive HITS Movies, following rollouts in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Sri Lanka. The channel for classic movies from the ’60s to the ’90s is now available in more than 7 million homes. In Myanmar, it joins sister network HITS—for classic TV shows—on Canal+.

“The launch of HITS Movies in yet another key market is a testament to the growing demand in the region for services that embody Rewind Networks’ proposition of curating the best content,” said Avi Himatsinghani, CEO of Rewind Networks. “We are confident that our viewers in Myanmar will enjoy HITS Movies, which will resonate strongly them as it has with viewers across the region.”

Erwan Luherne, CEO of Canal+ Myanmar Project, added, “HITS Movies’ launch on Canal+ is yet another example of our commitment to bringing the best content to our audiences in Myanmar. Viewers will enjoy HITS Movies’ blockbuster lineup of top-rated Hollywood movies from the ’60s to the ’90s, just as they have enjoyed its sister channel HITS.”
