TV Latina Festival FAST: Distributors Spotlight Opportunities in FAST

Jimmy van der Heyden, sales manager at CDC United Network, and Francisco Villanueva, VP and COO of SOMOS Distribution, took part in TV Latina’s Festival FAST session Opportunities for distributors in the FAST space.

“Our strategy has to do with the content lifecycle,” explained Villanueva, discussing how the company works with FAST channels in a conversation with Elizabeth Bowen-Tombari, editor of TV Latina. You can watch the complete session here. “Obviously, these types of channels represent an opportunity to capitalize on content that is in the catalog and has already been used in different windows.”

CDC United Network’s van der Heyden added: “It is very important to respect the exploitation windows of each title, from theatrical to AVOD, with FAST channels being at the end of that window chain, to maximize the revenue of each film we have in our catalog. We view the FAST and AVOD concept with interest but also with some caution because we need to protect the value of our offerings.”

The executives also elaborated on the factors they consider when selecting which FAST platforms to partner with for content distribution and the lessons they have learned while working with FAST channels, among other topics.
