In a wide-ranging conversation with World Screen’s Anna Carugati in the Grand Auditorium at the Palais today, Warner Bros. Discovery’s Gerhard Zeiler used his MIPCOM keynote to talk about the strengths of the “one-company” mindset and was joined on stage by Leah Hooper Rosa to share the European expansion plans for Max.

HBO has ordered to series The Franchise, a half-hour comedy directed by Sam Mendes that shines a light on the chaos inside the world of superhero moviemaking.

Max has launched the OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network hub on its platform in the U.S., featuring the Love & Marriage franchise, Belle Collective and more.

Sky and Warner Bros. Discovery have entered into a new multiyear agreement, securing the pay-TV provider’s platform in New Zealand as the home of HBO, Max originals, Warner Bros. and Discovery.

Max, the unified HBO Max and discovery+ streaming platform, is set to roll out in the U.S. on May 23 with a new tagline, “The One to Watch.”

Among the new projects announced for HBO and its revamped streaming service Max are the Game of Thrones prequel A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight and an original Harry Potter scripted series.
