MONTREAL: Peter Emerson, previously the president of Entertainment One (eOne) Television International, has acquired a minority stake in Cineflix Media and is taking on the role of president.

Emerson is teaming up with executive management to lead Cineflix Media’s growth initiatives. In addition to Emerson’s investment in the company, Cineflix is securing new financing with U.S. banks, which will include a senior operating line, plus significant funding for acquisitions and content partnerships to drive growth.

As president of Cineflix Media, based in the Toronto office, Emerson will report to the company’s co-founders and co-CEOs, Glen Salzman and Katherine Buck, who said: “We are delighted that Peter is coming on board. He brings a wealth of experience, industry relationships, and entrepreneurial vision that complement Cineflix’s growth strategy.”

Chris Bonney continues as CEO of Cineflix Rights, and Charles Tremayne, the president of Cineflix Productions, and both continue to report to Glen Salzman.

Emerson said: “Glen and Katherine have built a great company with a solid international infrastructure that is now poised for scalable growth. With the new financing in place, Cineflix has a clear path to build the company into a content production and distribution powerhouse.”
