Oasis: A Love Story Among Nippon TV Highlights

As Nippon TV gears up for MIPCOM, the company has revealed among its highlights the scripted format Oasis: A Love Story.

The drama is about a young woman who is unwanted by her parents and attempts suicide by jumping off a bridge. Upon waking up in the hospital, she realizes that she hasn’t been identified and pretends to have lost her memory, thinking she might be able to live a different life. She winds up befriending the police detective who took her to the hospital. He recently lost his wife, so he decides to take care of her until she regains her memory.

The Nippon TV slate also features the scripted formats Caution, Hazardous Wife, which follows a housewife who reinvents herself after realizing she is a disaster when it comes to homemaking but a champion of justice who becomes incredibly dangerous when angry, and Abandoned, seen through the eyes of children facing the harsh reality of life in an orphanage.

The company is also presenting the unscripted emotainment format When Life Gives You Money. In each episode, celebrities receive the amount of their age × $100 on their birthday to use as they please. A camera follows their journey as they try to find the best gift to enrich their lives.

Nippon TV has also revealed the anime series Run with the Wind, based on the youth novel of the same name by Shiwon Miura. Produced by Production I.G., the anime showcases university students and their pursuit of glory in Japan’s most famous collegiate championship, the Hakone Ekiden (relay marathon).
