Gaumont Bolsters Global TV Distribution & Co-pro Team

Gaumont has strengthened its global team of distribution and co-production execs, including the appointment of Ben Bishop, who joins the company from Entertainment One (eOne).

Based in Sydney, Bishop is taking up the new role of VP of TV distribution for Asia, Australia and New Zealand. He most recently served as sales director for the same region at eOne in Australia. Earlier in his career, he held various sales positions with Alliance Atlantis Motion Picture Distribution in Canada.

In addition, Alexis Barqueiro, based in Paris, has been elevated to the new position of VP of TV co-productions and acquisitions, and will collaborate with Jennevie Olivieri, who moves up to manager of TV co-productions and acquisitions, working from the Los Angeles office.

Gaumont has also hired Alli Farrell as its Los Angeles-based VP of marketing, charged with developing strategic marketing initiatives for worldwide TV sales. Farrell previously worked for Sony Pictures Television in Hong Kong.

Each of these executives will report to Vanessa Shapiro, Gaumont’s president of worldwide TV distribution and co-productions.

Shapiro remarked: “Over the past two years we’ve been aggressively bolstering our development slate and several new projects in Canada, Europe and Latin America are close to being greenlit, reinforcing our continued commitment to the expansion of our TV co-production business, as well as our sales distribution business. With this amount of growth comes the opportunity to invest in accomplished executives.”
