eOne & Bryan Elsley Team for Comedy Set in the World of VR

Entertainment One (eOne) is partnering with Skins creator Bryan Elsley and the team behind the BBC/Netflix comedy People Just Do Nothing to develop a new sitcom, Gary1987 (working title).

Set in the world of virtual reality, Gary1987 tells the story of unemployed Gary, a VR novice, who enters the VR world initially to make money and ends up way over his head. Elsley, creator of Kiss Me First and producer of Clique, will serve as executive producer. Steve Stamp, Allan Mustafa and Jack Clough, who worked on People Just Do Nothing, are on board as well.

The series will be produced by eOne and Elsley’s Balloon Entertainment and spearheaded by Polly Williams for eOne.

eOne will handle the international rights to the series in all media.
