Brazilian Talk Show Tops March Social Wit List

The March edition of the Social Wit List, The Wit’s rankings of the top trending new premieres in social media buzz, is topped by the Brazilian talk show Programa da Maísa.

Fronted by Maisa Silva, the series garnered about 71,000 mentions for its #BeautifulSet, #WonderfulGuests, #ImportantTopics and #CharismaticHost.

In second place with 65,000 mentions is tvN’s Korean fantasy drama He Is Psychometric, with audiences raving over the #AmazingMainActor and #DorkyAndCuteCouple in a show that #StartedOffWithABang.

HBO cracks the Social Wit List with two related entries, Leaving Neverland and Oprah Winfrey Presents: After Neverland. The polarizing Michael Jackson doc and follow-up special had some audiences #ShockedByTheSexualDetails and feeling #DisgustedByMJ, while many others proclaimed #MJIsInnocent and #TheAccusersAreLiars.

Another Brazilian entry follows with about 21,000 mentions—Rede Band’s O Aprendiz. The local version of The Apprentice—first done by Record from 2004 to 2014—hosted by Brazilian publicist Roberto Justus struck a chord with audiences, who were #HappyToSeeThisFormatAgain.

GMA Network’s Filipino drama Dragon Lady had about 18,000 mentions for the #GreatCast, #TalentedMainActress and #BeautifulStory.

Netflix’s new Ricky Gervais show After Life delivered a similar amount of social media traction, with audiences finding the show to be #FunnyAndEmotional and #HisBestProgramSinceDerek.

The Italian talk show Live – Non è la d’Urso on Canale 5 had some audience members enthused about the #TalentedHost, while others complained that it was #TooSimilarToHerOtherShows.

The period drama Argentina, tierra de amor y venganza on Canal 13 had about 14,000 mentions, some focused on offering #KudosToTheLeadingActor while others felt there were #TooManyAnachronisms.

Rounding out the list is the one-off Kilimanjaro: The Bigger Red Nose Climb with viewers #ProudOfTheParticipants in this #EmotionalShow.
