BBC Studios Invests in Quibi

BBC Studios has invested in Quibi, the short-form digital service from Jeffrey Katzenberg.

“We are pleased to have concluded an investment in Quibi, and we both see good opportunities to work together on future projects,” a BBC spokesperson said.

Last week, BBC Studios announced its first commission for Quibi, with the tentatively titled short-form wildlife series Fierce Queens.

BBC Studios joins an investor roster that includes ITV, Disney, Sony, WarnerMedia and Viacom, among others. Meg Whitman serves as CEO of the forthcoming content streaming platform.
