Jay Hunt, formerly the chief creative officer at Channel 4, has been hired by Apple as part of its original video push.

Hunt will be serving as creative director for Europe on the worldwide video team. Taking up the post in January 2018, she will be part of the international content development group reporting to Apple video chiefs Jamie Erlicht and Zack Van Amburg.

Hunt stepped down from her role at Channel 4 in September, after nearly seven years leading the British broadcaster’s creative strategy and program commissioning. She was championed as having led a creative turnaround of Channel 4’s schedules and channels, commissioning a range of successful returning series, including Gogglebox, First Dates, Humans, No Offence, Catastrophe, Hunted, Child Genius, The Secret Life of 4 Year Olds, Benefits Street, The Island and The Undateables.

The new appointment follows on the heels of news that Morgan Wandell, formerly of Amazon, has signed on to oversee international development and co-productions for Apple.
