India’s Times Internet has licensed a trio of Turkish drama series from Eccho Rights for an as-yet-unnamed OTT platform launching later this year.

The deal includes the Sürec Film-produced Cennet and New Bride, as well as Brave and Beautiful, produced by Ay Yapim. Cennet recently wrapped its first season in Tukey on ATV and has already sold to a number of territories across Europe and Asia, including Romania, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria and Georgia.

New Bride is returning to Show TV in Turkey for a third season, and the show has notched up deals in Eastern Europe, across MENA and in South East Asia. Brave and Beautiful has already sold to in more than 70 countries worldwide.

“There is a great thirst for Turkish content in India,” said Nixon Yau Lim, head of the Asia Pacific at Eccho Rights. “In the past we have had several Turkish script remakes in India but broadcasters are increasingly open to the opportunity to buy an off the shelf product that has already succeeded around the world.”
