NEW YORK: ABS-CBN’s Born for You generated the most buzz on Twitter and Facebook last month of all the new programs to launch globally in June, according to The WIT.

The Filipino telenovela stars actress/singer/model Janella Salvador and actor/singer Elmo Magalona as the young protagonists of an impossible love story set in the music world. The debut stirred up around 46,800 tweets, with many giving the #ThumbsUp to the #WellActed show for its #GreatSoundtrack and #NicePlot.

Number two on the list of the top ten most-buzzed-about new shows in social media in June is Disney Channel’s Adventures in Babysitting. This remake of the popular 1980s movie of the same name recounts a dull evening for two competing babysitters that turns into an adventure as they hunt for a kid who somehow snuck away. There were approximately 43,100 tweets about the #100thDisneyMovie, making its broadcast a #SocialEvent. Many in social media were commenting about the #GreatCast and saying there is a #SequelNeeded.

OWN’s Greenleaf saw some 37,300 social media comments. The drama series—exec produced by Oprah Winfrey, who also guest stars—takes viewers into the unscrupulous world of the Greenleaf family and their sprawling Memphis megachurch, where scandalous secrets and lies are as numerous as the faithful. Social media was buzzing with #KudosToOprah for the #Epic and #Fascinating show, which was #WellActed.

There were around 28,900 tweets about Lagos to London: Britain’s New Super-Rich, which aired on Channel 4 in the U.K. The documentary explores the new wave of super-rich Nigerians who are moving into London’s poshest neighborhoods. The #PolarizedAudience tweeting about it on social media thought the #MoneyWasting was #Outrageous and others were #Proud of the #NewFaceofAfrica.

No:309 on FOX in Turkey ranks fifth, with 25,900 tweets. In this romantic drama, Lale (Demet Özdemir) realizes on the eve of her wedding that her fiancé has been cheating on her. Her mother then tries to introduce her to other men, without success. There was much #Kudos being given by Facebook and Twitter commenters for the #BelovedActress starring in the #Addictive show.

A l’état sauvage on M6 in France had around 22,900 comments about its debut. In this local adaptation of Running Wild with Bear Grylls, an adventurer and survivalist takes celebrities into the most remote and wild locations around the world for a one-week journey of a lifetime. Social media was buzzing about the #ImpressiveProduction and #BreathtakingLandscapes, with many giving #KudosToGuest stars taking part in the #Insightful and #Heartwarming show.

From the U.S., Guilt on Freefrom is a thriller that revolves around an American in London who becomes the prime suspect in the savage murder of her roommate. The #ThrilledAudience was tweeting about the debut of the #Intense #SummerMystery, with around 22,400 comments.

Şahane Damat on Star TV in Turkey generated some 21,700 tweets for the #FunSummerSeries that some think is #GoodNotGreat. Comments were also coming in about the #NiceCouple at the center of the story. In the series, Melike, living in Istanbul, leads her family in Germany to believe she’s a successful journalist (she isn’t) who is engaged to a doctor (she’s single).

Love Under New Management: The Miki Howard Story on TV One in the U.S. saw some 21,100 comments from the #EngagedAudience with #EmpathicResponses. The TV movie is based on an episode of the music biography program Unsung, charting the epic life of singer/actress Miki Howard and her battle to overcome spousal abuse and drug addiction.

The top ten list wraps with Batalha dos Cozinheiros, which airs on Brazil’s Rede Record. The cooking contest hosted by Cake Boss‘s Buddy Valastro sees 26 pairs of amateur chefs compete against each other in themed challenges. Around 19,300 comments were made on social media about the #Lively and #Funny show that featured the #CharismaticBuddy and plenty of #Yummy dishes.
