UNIVERSAL CITY: USA Network has ordered the unscripted comedy series First Impressions, featuring SNL alum Dana Carvey.

The half-hour show sees America’s best amateur impressionists go head-to-head in a weekly battle to find out who can do the best celebrity impression. Carvey will mentor the contestants and take part in the game play. Viewers will be able to cast their votes to help select a winner.

“There is no better talent to mentor these contestants than the master of impressions, Dana Carvey,” said Jackie de Crinis, the executive VP of original programming at USA Network. “The expertise and humor that he will bring to the series is unsurpassed and we can’t wait to have his world-famous celebrity impersonations on our network.”

"There are so many great impressionists, and First Impressions gives them an opportunity to showcase their talents,” added Carvey. "Besides, I've always enjoyed watching an impressionist nail somebody…as in capture their voice. Now I get paid to watch.”

First Impressions is from Renegade 83 and Gaspin Media. Carvey, Jeff Gaspin, David Garfinkle and Jay Renfroe will executive produce.
