TBS in the U.S. has secured the rights for Arthur’s Law (Arthurs Gesetz), which is the first scripted original production from Turner Germany’s TNT Comedy.

The deal includes both the format rights as well as broadcast rights for the original with English subtitles. Arthur’s Law centers on unemployed Arthur Ahnepol (Jan Josef Liefers), who ekes out a bleak existence. Drawn from the strains of his unhappy marriage and being bored to death, he makes a morbid plan: he wants his obnoxious wife to die. But an unwritten law dominates the life of the unlucky fellow: every problem solved by Arthur has a far worse effect.
