FremantleMedia North America (FMNA) has named Rick Glankler, former head of the FremantleMedia Kids & Family division that was recently acquired by Boat Rocker Media, as president of commercial operations.

In his newly created role, which is effective immediately, Glankler will work out of Burbank under FMNA CEO Jennifer Mullin. He will be responsible for the company’s strategy/business development, helping Mullin identify potential investment opportunities and M&A that best complement FMNA and the overall FremantleMedia core businesses. He will also lead FMNA’s ancillary businesses, including licensing, sponsorship and branded content, identifying new opportunities for growth and partnerships.

In addition, Glankler will guide FMNA’s marketing/communications teams while also offering insight to the company’s vintage game-show digital multicast network, BUZZR, as well as its overall digital/social media efforts.

Glankler was first hired by FremantleMedia in 2013. He most recently served as president/general manager of FremantleMedia Kids & Family. Earlier in his career, he was senior VP of HIT Entertainment.

Mullin stated: “Rick has been a huge asset to FremantleMedia since joining the company in 2013. His passion and dedication to the business has brought with it enormous results. Rick has exceptional vision and a proven track record of being able to build businesses and make strategic alliances. It’s with great admiration that I welcome him to the FMNA team.”

“I am excited to continue my journey with the FremantleMedia family, and look forward to the new challenges and opportunities this role will bring,” added Glankler. “With a phenomenal lineup of some of the most proven brands in entertainment and a vast array of new projects coming down the pipeline that are attracting the best talent in the industry, it’s a truly amazing time to be joining FremantleMedia North America.”
