Oprah’s Harpo Productions Taps Netflix Alum Terry Wood for EVP Role

Terry Wood has been named executive VP of Harpo Productions to oversee production of original content for the new partnership between Apple and Oprah Winfrey.

Wood is joining Harpo Productions, where she will report to Winfrey, from Netflix. At Netflix, she helped the streaming service move into weekly content and oversaw the launch of Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, Chelsea Handler’s talk show Chelsea, David Letterman’s My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, Bill Nye Saves the World, The Norm McDonald Show, The Fix with Comedian Jimmy Carr and A Little Help with Carol Burnett.

Prior to Netflix, Wood spent 13 years at CBS Television Syndication/King World, where she became president of creative and development and launched Dr. Phil. In the 1990s, she worked as an executive at Harpo Studios in Chicago alongside Winfrey on the development team.
