NBC Hires New SVP of Program Planning & Scheduling

UNIVERSAL CITY: NBC Entertainment has appointed ABC’s Steve Kern as its senior VP of program planning and scheduling.

In his new position, Kern will be expected to plan and direct the program scheduling function for the network’s prime-time scripted, alternative and late night programming. He will report to Jeff Bader, the company’s president of program planning, strategy and research.

Kern previously served as the VP of program planning and scheduling for ABC Entertainment, where he worked with Bader and played an important role in the scheduling of hit comedies such as The Middle and Modern Family. Prior to that he worked for companies such as Fox Sports Net, Warner Bros. TV and Columbia TriStar TV Distribution.

"Steve’s experience in scheduling combined with his broad knowledge of the network television business will make him a valuable addition to the NBC team," said Bader.
