MTV Gives Go-Ahead for Scream TV Pilot

NEW YORK: Among other announcements from its Upfront presentation, MTV has greenlit a pilot for a small-screen adaptation of the hit horror movie franchise Scream.

The one-hour pilot from MTV and Dimension Films could potentially lead to a series that would air on MTV next summer. DiGa Vision is on board as a producer.

The network has also added a trio of new titles to its lineup: Generation Cryo, a docudrama; Nurse Nation, a tentatively titled docuseries; and The Hook Up (w.t.), a dating show presented by MTV2’s Andrew Schulz (Guy Code). It was additionally revealed that the Jersey Shore spin-off Snooki & JWOWW has been renewed for a third season.

MTV2 has announced that a new version of the improv comedy program Nick Cannon Presents Wild N Out will premiere on Tuesday, July 9 at 11 p.m. The channel also greenlit Guy Court, a comedic courtroom series that will debut in the fall, and picked up season two of Mac Miller and the Most Dope Family, slated for broadcast early next year.
