Jude Law & Taika Waititi Team for Showtime Horror-Comedy

Showtime is developing The Auteur, starring Academy Award nominee Jude Law (The Young Pope) and directed by Academy Award winner Taika Waititi (Jojo Rabbit, The Mandalorian).

The half-hour series is billed as a “gonzo horror-comedy, a twisted romance and a glamorous, high-wire act of biting satire.” It follows as a film producer, desperate to make a great horror movie after a massive bomb, accidentally traps his production on a backlot with a serial killer.

The project, produced by Showtime and Legendary with Endeavor Content serving as the studio, is based on the graphic novel by Rick Spears, James Callahan and Luigi Anderson.

Waititi will also write along with Peter Warren (Ghost Team). Waititi, Warren, Law, Eric Gitter, Spears, Callahan and Dan Halsted executive produce the series.
