David Hasselhoff Mockumentary Series Coming to the U.S.

LOS ANGELES: AXS TV has picked up the first season of the U.K. mockumentary series Hoff the Record for a U.S. premiere in spring 2016.

The six-episode semi-scripted series, shot in a verité style, stars David Hasselhoff (“The Hoff”) of Baywatch fame as a fictionalized version of himself. He moves to London in an attempt to get his career back on track and discovers that nothing is what it seems. The show is distributed by BBC Worldwide North America and is the second British series to premiere on AXS TV, following the success of The X Factor UK. Hoff the Record premiered in the U.K. in June.

Showrunners Yee and Majumdar of Me & You Productions commented: “We grew up watching David Hasselhoff on TV so we are thrilled to be working with such a legend and amazed that he is game to play a jaw-dropping version of himself for us. This is our first series for AXS and it’s great to be on such a supportive broadcaster making an ambitious cutting-edge comedy series.”

Hasselhoff serves as producer, and the executive producers for UKTV are Iain Coyle and Richard Watsham. Hasselhoff’s executive producer is Eric Gardner. Majumdar and Yee produced the show for Me & You Productions.
