Crown Media Developing New Content Franchises

Crown Media is working on two new content franchises rooted in the classic Hallmark brands Crayola and DaySpring.

Crayola’s purpose is to help raise creative kids and DaySpring’s is to help people know and share faith. The announcement comes as Crown Media is gearing up to debut the inaugural movies in its Mahogany initiative, based on the Hallmark Card line of the same name.

“Hallmark’s wide-ranging IP consists of some of the most iconic and beloved brands of all time, offering a wealth of storytelling opportunities,” said Lisa Hamilton Daly, Crown Media’s executive VP of programming. “We are exploring content projects from movies and series to short-form entertainment and podcasts.”
