Crown Media has promoted Daryl Evans to senior director of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).

In his new role, Evans will develop and implement Crown Media’s DEI initiatives, working closely with internal leaders to establish the DEI framework across the organization. He will be responsible for identifying programs and cultural efforts that drive business goals and promote the needs of individuals.

Evans initially joined the company in 2012 and has served several roles in content production and digital, most recently serving as director of digital. In that role, he oversaw the Hallmark Movie Checklist app, the SEO strategy for digital properties, sweepstakes development and execution and more. He was a founding chair of Crown Media’s Employee Resource Council, which supports an inclusive workforce through cultural celebrations, community service, intentional learning and employee engagement.

Prior to joining Crown Media, Evans worked at NBC10 Philadelphia as assignment editor, where he supported the production of NBC10’s local news casts. He also worked as an event marketing manager at NBCUniversal’s StudioTEN Creative Group, where he was responsible for producing station events, overseeing the NBC10 street team and managing community partnerships.

As senior director of DEI, he will report to Pamela Wolfe, chief people officer.

“Daryl is a widely recognized and beloved member of our workforce across the Hallmark enterprise, having established himself over the years as a consummate leader, colleague and advocate for DEI in the industry and beyond,” Wolfe said. “His boundless enthusiasm and positivity, combined with his commitment to amplifying underrepresented voices, make him the ideal person for this role.”
