Comedy Tops ABC Slate

BURBANK: ABC, which added a slew of comedies to its lineup, has moved Revenge to Sundays, in the slot that used to be occupied by Desperate Housewives.

The Monday schedule for fall prime time will feature Dancing with the Stars returning at 8 p.m. and Castle coming in at 10 p.m. Starting in January, The Bachelor will take over the 8 p.m. hour.

Tuesdays kick off with the Dancing with the Stars results show taking an hour-long slot at 8 p.m., followed by the return of Happy Endings, Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 and Private Practice. Midseason, How to Live with Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life) takes over at 8 p.m. with The Family Tools at 8:30 p.m. How to Live with Your Parents stars Sarah Chalke as a single mom who’s been divorced for almost a year. She and her daughter move back home with her parents, played by Elizabeth Perkins and Brad Garrett, to get through the tough financial times. The Family Tools is based on the hit British show White Van Man. It tells the story of a son who takes over the beloved family handyman business following his father’s heart attack.

The Wednesday lineup features the return of The Middle, Suburgatory and Modern Family, alongside the fresh pickups The Neighbors and Nashville. The Neighbors is a comedy about a gated New Jersey townhome community, which may be comprised of aliens from Zabvron. Nashville is a drama featuring Friday Night Lights‘ Connie Britton as a country legend who’s career and popularity has started to wane.

The freshman drama Last Resort, about a crew aboard a submarine left crippled on the ocean floor who wind up on an exotic island to find refuge and start over, leads off Thursday nights. The return of Grey’s Anatomy follows in the 9 p.m. hour, with the second season of Scandal coming in at 10 p.m.

Fridays feature Shark Tank, Primetime: What Would You Do? and 20/20. In November, Shark Tank shifts to 9 p.m. Last Man Standing takes over at 8 p.m., leading into the new pickup Malibu Country, starring Reba as a woman who finds out her country-music legend husband cheated on her. She leaves Nashville to start over at their Malibu residence, and begins to rebuild her life in this new setting.

Saturdays feature college football. Sundays see the returning shows America’s Funniest Home Videos, Once Upon a Time and Revenge. New to the night is 666 Park Avenue, about the residents of a historic building that has a mysterious owner and shadowy, supernatural forces.
