NEW YORK: Select performances from the Comedy Theatre at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival will be filmed and edited into an original one-hour compilation stand-up special that will air on Comedy Central this summer.

The Comedy Theatre at Bonnaroo has been around since 2004. This year’s comic lineup will include, among others, Aziz Ansari, Judah Freidlander, Amy Schumer and Ali Wong. Bonnaroo will take place from June 7 to 10. The one-hour special from the event will air this summer on Comedy Central.

"Our relationship with Bonnaroo started with last year’s digital multiplatform experience and has now expanded into producing an on-air comedy special as well as partnering on programming for the Comedy Theatre," said Jonas Larsen, the senior VP of talent and specials at Comedy Central. "Needless to say, we are thrilled to take part in this event and to take all the credit for its success."

"Evolving the Bonnaroo media property onto a major broadcast platform is an important step for us," added Chad Issaq, the executive VP of business development for Superfly Marketing Group, which oversees partnerships for Bonnaroo. "We look forward to providing plenty of laughs with our friends at Comedy Central. I just hope they’ve got a sense of humor, because spending a week down on the farm is no joke."
