CBS All Access has given a straight-to-series order for Interrogation, a true-crime drama produced by CBS Television Studios and Fabrik Entertainment in which the viewer becomes the detective.

Interrogation is based on a true story that spanned more than 30 years, in which a young man was charged and convicted of brutally murdering his mother. Each episode is structured around an interrogation taken directly from the real police case files. The first nine episodes of the series will be available to watch in any order, and the season finale will be released at a later date.

Co-creators Anders Weidemann (30 Degrees In February) and John Mankiewicz (House of Cards, Bosch) will serve as executive producers alongside Fabrik Entertainment’s Henrik Bastin and Melissa Aouate. Fabrik Entertainment is a Red Arrow Studios company.

“This nonlinear approach to storytelling is closer to how real detectives work, picking their own path through the evidence in a search for the truth,” said Weidemann, executive producer and co-creator.

Interrogation pushes the boundaries of what a television series can be with its truly unique format,” said Julie McNamara, executive VP of original content at CBS All Access. “It’s also a series that could only be executed with the technical capabilities of a streaming service, and we look forward to bringing its innovative approach to our CBS All Access subscribers.”
