A+E Networks Names MD for International Content Sales & Partnerships

NEW YORK/LONDON: A+E Networks has brought in industry veteran Joel Denton to serve as its managing director of international content sales and partnerships.

Denton will be based in London, reporting to Sean Cohan, the executive VP of international at A+E Networks. Denton is charged with managing A+E Networks' content distribution and format licensing activities outside of the U.S. He will lead international scripted revenue, execution and partnership. His remit also sees him working to facilitate international co-productions, presales and distribution for scripted series, miniseries and movies from A+E Networks.

Denton has been serving as a consultant to A+E Networks, advising on international program strategy and distribution. He has also held consultancy roles for several media companies, including BSkyB and FremantleMedia. Denton previously served as managing director for Red Arrow Entertainment, which he founded with James Baker. Previously, Denton was the president of international sales and production for Hallmark Entertainment. Prior to Hallmark Entertainment, he held sales positions with International Television Enterprises, Central Television Enterprises and Granada TV.
