Discovery’s Amy Savitsky Joins A&E Network

NEW YORK: A&E Network has appointed Discovery Communications’ Amy Savitsky as its senior VP of development and programming.

In her new role, Savitsky will be responsible for driving A&E Network’s nonfiction development. She will be based in New York and will report to Elaine Frontain Bryant, the executive VP and head of programming for A&E. Shelly Tatro will continue to serve as senior VP of development and programming, and Savitsky and Tatro will manage the programming and development team together.

Savitsky joins A&E from Discovery Communications, where she most recently served as senior VP of development for TLC, overseeing the daily management of the network’s development team. Her credits include Breaking Amish and My 600lb Life, among other series. She also worked as the VP of development for Discovery Channel. Savitsky is a member of the CINE board.
