The HISTORY Channel Expands Alone Franchise

The HISTORY Channel has expanded its popular franchise Alone with two new spin-offs: Alone: The Skills Challenge and Alone: Frozen.

Debuting August 4, Alone: The Skills Challenge sees three former Alone participants compete head-to-head in creative build challenges. In Alone: Frozen, premiering August 11, six of the strongest previous participants must spend 50 winter days in Labrador, Canada, to win a share of a $500,000 prize.

Returning survivalists starring in Alone: The Skills Challenge are Callie North (season three), Lucas Miller (season one), Amós Rodriguez (season seven), Britt Ahart (seasons three and five), Jordan Jonas (season six), Joel Van Der Loon (season seven) and Clay Hayes (season eight).

Former participants featuring in Alone: Frozen are Greg Ovens (season three), Woniya Thibeault (season six), Callie Russell (season seven), Mark D’Ambrosio (season seven), Amós Rodriguez (season seven) and Michelle Finn (season eight).

After its August 4 debut at 10:30 p.m. EST, Alone: The Skills Challenge will move to its regular time slot of Thursdays at 10 p.m. Alone: Frozen will premiere on August 11 at 9 p.m.

In addition, a new one-hour special titled Alone: Frozen Before the Freeze will air on July 28 and will give an inside look at the new Alone: Frozen series.

Both new series are produced by Leftfield Pictures, an ITV America company. A+E Networks holds worldwide distribution rights for both the series and the format for Alone, as well as for Alone: The Skills Challenge and Alone: Frozen.
