The HISTORY Channel and Ancestry have teamed for a custom branded series hosted by retired boxer Laila Ali, daughter of Muhammad Ali.

The series will profile women who made an impact on history, revealing their unique stories and diverse lineages through interviews with their descendants. Those profiled include the first female self-made millionaire, one of the first Indigenous peoples to earn a medical degree and an entrepreneur who created the oldest U.S. candy company.

Descendants of each woman narrate their personal family history through Ancestry-digitized records. Each piece is one minute long, but the series is supported by three 90-second extended pieces that will be featured on The HISTORY Channel social platforms and featured in a playlist on History.com.

The series was created for A+E Networks in partnership with Canyon Road Entertainment and Blue State Films. It will roll out over the course of the month, premiering on February 6, adjacent to the debut of History’s Greatest of All Time with Peyton Manning.

“Our collaboration with Ancestry is especially fulfilling because it seamlessly marries each partners’ efforts to illuminate lesser-known history,” said Niki Mandell, VP of ad sales marketing partnerships at A+E Networks. “We’re honored to again deliver well-known talent, along with the trusted, custom, creative environment, for this important partner to reach audiences with stories of diversity and family exploration.”
