Quintus Studios has acquired several blue-chip documentary titles for its on-demand channels Free Documentary and FD Real.

Quintus picked up the two-part Masters of Engineering, co-produced by France Télévisions and 2P2L, from Lucky You. Combining blue-chip photography with CGI and set in locations across the world, Masters of Engineering highlights the history of human ingenuity from developing techniques of construction to designing new technology.

Also joining the slate are the hour-long Exceptional Transportation, directed by Anthony Binst and produced by Interscoop, and the one-hour The Challenge of Bridge Maintenance, produced by Interscoop, from Ampersand. Exceptional Transportation is a behind-the-scenes look at the technological prowess and the incredible machines used to assemble aircraft, and The Challenge of Bridge Maintenance looks at highly skilled specialists as they perform maintenance tasks, using advanced techniques on bridges to prevent tragedies.

All three titles will be available on Free Documentary.

The 4×1-hour Extreme Trades has been picked up for both its VOD channels Free Documentary and FD Real. Produced by France TV Studio, Extreme Trades follows the heroes of the high seas such as fishermen, on-board surgeons, rescue pilots from the French Navy and icebreaker pilots as they stand up to the challenges of the open oceans.

Gerrit Kemming, managing director at Quintus Studios, said, “Quintus continues to acquire some of the most exceptional factual programs on the market. These acquisitions perfectly align our aim to offer unique and quality-driven content to viewers on our VOD channels.”
