MIAMI: Venevision International has sold the broadcasting rights for Venevision Productions’ telenovela Passions of the Heart (Corazon Apasionado) to Spain’s Televisión Española (TVE).

Written by Alberto Gomez and starring Marlene Favela and Guy Ecker, Passions of the Heart will air on TVE’s La 1. It was recorded in High Definition in Miami and was produced by Venevision Productions. In addition to its premiere in Spain, the series is broadcast in the Dominican Republic, Chile, Ecuador, Canada, Lithuania, Colombia and Venezuela, among others to come. Passions of the Heart chronicles the life of a young and beautiful girl who is in love with her boyfriend, although her stern grandmother will not accept it and her father plans to sell her to cover a gambling debt.

“Following the astonishing success of Eva Luna in Spain, Television Española continues to program our proven telenovelas, in this case, Corazon Apasionado, which is sure to be a favorite among viewers,” said Miguel Dvorak, the president and COO of the Cisneros Group of Companies. “This acquisition provides us with a boost as we prepare for the upcoming international market, MIPTV 2012.”
