SÃO PAULO: Israel is the latest country to pick up Globo’s telenovela Brave Woman, slating the show for a fall premiere.

The series is scheduled to air in October on the pay-TV network VIVA, which exclusively broadcasts telenovelas. The Glória Perez-penned show tells the story of a young woman who becomes a victim of an international human trafficking gang after she’s tricked into taking a job offer in Turkey.

Brave Woman debuted in Portugal last year and was also picked up in African countries such as Cape Verde, Angola and Mozambique. VIVA has previously aired the Globo productions The Life We Lead and Brazil Avenue.
