Cast Chosen for The Hypochondriac Novela

BOGOTÁ: Caracol TV and Sony Pictures Television (SPT) have announced the cast members for The Hypochondriac, a soap opera that is set to launch internationally at NATPE 2013.

The Hypochondriac (La Hipocondriaca) will star Cristina Campuzano (Gentlemen Prefer Them Dumb) and John Álex Toro (Newly Rich, Newly Poor). It will also feature the talents of Nicolás Montero, Kepa Amuchástegui, Marcela Benjumea, Alberto León, Juan Sebastián Caicedo, Alma Rodríguez, Leonardo Acosta, María Cecilia Botero, Marcela Agudelo, Marilyn Patiño, Julio César Herrera, Lina Tejeiro, Nicole Santamaría and Rita Bendeck, among others.

The show, which includes elements of comedy, will revolve around Macarena, a hypochondriac, whose doctor misdiagnoses her with a terminal disease.

"Pre-production has been going extremely well and with a phenomenal cast now in place, we’re confident the novela will resonate with viewers that enjoy drama with a touch of humor."
