OTT revenues in sub-Saharan Africa will rise from $223 million last year to more than $1 billion by 2024, according to Digital TV Research.

There will be some 10 million SVOD subscribers across Sub-Saharan Africa by 2023, up from 1.6 million at the end of last year, according to Digital TV Research, but revenues from that base will only reach $775 million.

Mobile operators are seen as key drivers for the nascent OTT market in Sub-Saharan Africa, which, while still small, is expected to see considerable gains through 2022.
