GMA Network’s series remake of Maging Sino Ka Man is slated to premiere on Netflix in the Asia Pacific and Middle East on December 10.

Based on the 1991 romance movie of the same name, the new series sees a business empire heiress whose life is in danger assume the disguise of the boyish Dino. When she crosses paths with a petty thief who looks after orphans, they struggle to sort out their differences but eventually discover they have a common past.

The series remake stars Barbie Forteza and David Licauco in the lead roles. Additional cast includes Juancho Triviño, Fatih Da Silva, Mikoy Morales and Rain Matienzon.

On preparing for the dual roles of heiress Monique and boyish Dino, Forteza said, “I watched one of my favorite actresses, Hilary Swank, to get a reference for the role of Dino. Then I thought of making Monique more sophisticated and liberated to emphasize the difference between the two characters. I always like to challenge myself into making my characters more complex yet relatable and full of depth.”

Maging Sino Ka Man’s action scenes came somewhat easily to Licauco, who said, “I always work out, and I’m an athlete.”
