Three New Senior Management Appointments at VIMN The Americas

MIAMI: Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) The Americas has made three new appointments to it senior management team.

Juan “JC” Acosta has been tapped for the role of chief operating officer, based in Miami; Federico Cuervo was named senior VP of entertainment brands, working from Buenos Aires; and Tiago Worcman will serve as senior VP of music brands for VIMN The Americas out of São Paulo.

As COO, Acosta will oversee VIMN’s portfolio of brands—among them MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, Paramount Channel and Tr3—in Latin America, Canada and the U.S. Hispanic market. Acosta will also have financial oversight of the company’s extensive entertainment portfolio, while supervising the company’s original-production strategy and management for all brands.

In his role as senior VP of entertainment brands, Cuervo will be responsible for Comedy Central and the Paramount Channel in Latin America. Meanwhile, Worcman will be responsible for directing the content and creative strategy for the music brands at the pan-regional level, supervising the development and production of MTV’s slate of original content and programming, along with Tr3s for the U.S. Hispanic market and Vh1 for Latin America. Worcman will in addition combine MTV Latin America with MTV Brazil, working closely with the company’s general managers in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico.
