NEW YORK: Fluency is the name of the all-new Los Angeles-based production studio set up by Telemundo Media, as part of its efforts to develop and produce premium original content for all platforms.

Fluency will be producing programming in English and in Spanish. The productions will span genres such as romantic comedy, science fiction and adventure. There are already a number of series in development, including The Good Bad One, a romantic comedy with a fantasy twist, and ISA, a sci-fi coming-of-age story. The series to come out of Fluency will be distributed by NBCUniversal.

Jose Marquez, Telemundo’s VP of digital video production and development, will led the new hub. It will be overseen by Peter Blacker, the executive VP of Telemundo’s digital and emerging business unit.
