BUENOS AIRES: MBC, a major Pan-Arab television broadcaster, has licensed The Chairwoman and optioned Candy Love from Telefe International.

The Chairwoman is a 32×1-hour high-definition series that revolves around the owner of a cosmetics company. Candy Love is a 150×1-hour HD telenovela that focuses on the love stories of four couples.

The production company O3 has also shown an interest in licensing and optioning the respective titles. Last month O3 executives traveled to Telefe’s facilities to attend a production workshop designed for them.

Fernando Varela, Telefe’s director, remarked: "With the recent release of Montecristo, plus the option for Candy Love and the license for The Chairwoman in the Middle East, Telefe is one of the main Latin players for this region. We are honored to have been chosen by O3 for this production workshop adapted to their needs. This visit has undoubtedly been a great step in our relationship."
