Sundance Channel Set for Latin America

NEW YORK: AMC/Sundance Channel Global has inked a deal for the Sundance Channel to launch on DIRECTV in Latin America this September.

Sundance Channel will be available for the first time in seven Latin American countries: Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela. DIRECTV will also launch a separate Portuguese-language service for its subscribers in Brazil at a later date.

Robert Redford, founder of Sundance Channel, stated, “It has long been my hope to see Sundance Channel expand globally to share the compelling stories of independent filmmakers and artists as widely as possible. Bringing Sundance Channel to Latin America builds on this vision.”
